Luke Mercier & Rolling River

genre - traditional, Appalachian Stringband Music / Old Time Country Bluegrass

Lazy John ~ (formerly 'Cedar Valley Boys')

Energetic, foot stomping, authentic, southern Old Time, Country, Bluegrass and good ol' fun are all words that describe the music of 'Lazy John'. With an ecclectic mix of tunes ranging from Appalachian Stringband music to the more familiar Bluegrass and Country favourites, the boys have come together with great force to contribute a verse (or two) in this thriving oral tradition.

The original Cedar Valley Boys were brought to life in the 60's by Keith Tompkins, Delbert/Daisy Tompkins and Jimmy Ellis (The Backwoodsman). The current lineup consists of Shane Crumb-mandolin/vocals, Luke Mercier-fiddle/vocals,
Matt Ray-banjo/vocals, Derrick Tompkins-guitar and Tim Hadley on Double-Bass. If you're a fan of Old Time Country and Bluegrass music, these guys are a real treat!
