• Good Commercial French JTL Violin 'Imperial' Gaspar da Salo

 

Good French Commercial Violin in Excellent Condition

This violin has its original label which reads:

"Imperial" Violin - Gaspard da Salo - Wha'ey Royce Co, Limited Toronto

made in France

 

The original antiqued varnish is a lovely transparent dark red-brown colour and the back is of highly figured maple. The back and front are adorned by double purfling and very fine edge work. The instrument has a full arch and a very robust, clean, bright and even sound. The balance is good across the strings and the violin has been set up professionally. It does not need any work done to it. There are no cracks or open seams. It is fitted with a professional Mercier Shop bridge, proper fingerboard dressing and superflexible strings.
